Press Release - 8/1/2003
Children of the Circle Web Site

– A web site dedicated to dissemination of information and education of the Pagan faiths…

The Pagan community recognizes the Southern Delta Church of Wicca - ATC and jointly supports the launch of their new Web Site at:

www.ChildrenOfTheCircle.com

Jonesboro, AR. August 1, 2003:
The launch of their new web site comes on the eve of the RECENT RELEASE of the “March on Fort God” video.

The launch is scheduled for the Lughnasadh Festival that will be held in Jonesboro, Arkansas at their church over a three day weekend. This launch date marks the 10 year anniversary of the infamous "Freedom of Religion March" that was held in August of 1993 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The decision for a new web site comes after the elders at the Southern Delta Church of Wicca - ATC decided to broaden their scope for the dissemination of correct information of the Pagan faiths and dispel the misconceptions, misbeliefs and urban legends that plague their religion.

The Southern Delta Church of Wicca – ATC will maintain their SDCW web site for the church that lists important information on schedules, events and other clergy information.

Rev. Terry Riley was quoted as saying: “We feel the two sites will benefit anyone interested in not only our church and its functions, but provide the public with proper information and tools of our religion.”

The church wants to be able to provide the pagan community and general public with the tools and education to empower them with proper knowledge of Wicca and other Pagan faiths. With this knowledge, Rev. Riley hopes the attitudes toward Wicca and other Pagan faiths will fade over time. He also states "The Pagan and Christian communities can live together in peace, love and harmony if each group will strive together toward a common goal, that goal is coexistence." “We know Christianity is not the only way or the only path and neither is Wicca.” “However we are all trying to get to the same place, we just have different paths to get there.” “We can learn from each other and once again become a united people of America.” “There are far too many problems in this World without adding to them with internal bickering and fighting among ourselves as a nation.” “Together we can overcome this age old hatred the Christians hold toward the Pagans and rise to new levels and achievements together.” “All it takes is the willingness to learn and simply agree to disagree on the single path that so many Christians feel is the way to the higher powers that be.” “I hope they will read their Bible and learn from some of its simple lessons like having compassion and love for thy neighbor.”

The SDCW – ATC looks forward to the challenges that lie ahead and will strive to accomplish its goals of harmonious coexistence.

March on Fort God: Paganism emerges in the “Bible Belt”

– A documentary
The Pagan community recognizes The Southern Delta Church of Wicca - ATC and jointly supports the new release of a documentary of their religious persecution in 1993 to present

Jonesboro, AR. August 1, 2003:
A compelling documentary of a modern day Witch Hunt, that took place in August of 1993 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Paganism emerges in the “Bible Belt” in the midst of the brutal West Memphis murders of three young boys. There was talk of satanic ritual style murders flowing in the air. NE Arkansas was on fire. Fear was running rampant and the boogeyman was on the prowl. The victim’s families were outraged and told the public that Satanism was at play and children were in danger. Citizens of this predominately Christian community awoke to news headlines that told of a businessman that practiced witchcraft and opened an occult shop. The businessman’s name was Terry Riley, a local that decided a shop was needed for the traditional tools, books and other items used in his religion.

Three teens were in jail for the supposed brutal satanic murders and that witch trial was underway… Would Terry Riley and his group be next?

Ministers preached of Satan being loose in their midst. This was the work of the underworld and it was their duty to shut the shop down.

Rev. Terry Riley – High Priest, Southern Delta Church of Wicca - ATC narrates.

Ben Alexander - “Exposing Satan’s Powers Ministries” conducts a Christian seminar and tells of Demons and Witchcraft.

Kerr Cahulain - Nationally recognized author and authority of the occult, Vancouver British Columbia police officer, High Priest of the Wiccan religion - conducts seminars to local police authorities and the public on misinformation and urban myths.

Dr. Robin Anderson - Associate professor of history at Arkansas State University is called in for interviews by local TV news anchors for a week long special on the occult and Satanism.

Watch as the events unfold before your eyes. Did this really happen in modern day 1993?
Were these Witch Hunts actually occurring?

Press Release - 1/11/2004
COTC Re-opens the infamous "Magick Moon"

In 1993, The Magick Moon was first opened in Jonesboro, Arkansas. After pressure from local Christian Ministers, the landlord was forced to ask us to close our shop and terminate our lease on the business property where the Magick Moon was located.

After initially refusing to leave, fighting this in court, and the ground breaking historical Freedom of Religion March that soon followed in the middle of "The Bible Belt", we eventually had to close the doors to the Magick Moon.

Although we did not leave the area, and have since founded the Southern Delta Church of Wicca - ATC, many attempts to reopen an Occult Shop have resulted in their eventual closings. All we have ever wanted to do was to have a place where our fellow pagans and seekers alike have the ability to purchase their ritual tools, supplies, and accessories.

We would like to take this opportunity to announce the Grand Re-Opening of the infamous Magick Moon. The Magick Moon will be an online e-commerce site where everyone can come to purchase their ritual tools, supplies, and accessories without the fear of religious persecution. We have provided a direct link to The Magick Moon via www.TheMagickMoon.com
